Blackmagic Design Ethernet Switch 820

Essential Add-On's we recommend

Description

Designed for SMPTE 2110 video commonly employed in the film and television industry, the Ethernet Switch 820 from Blackmagic Design provides extremely high performance with eight high-speed 100G Ethernet QSFP ports. The unit features a front and rear ventilated design with redundant power supply, and it incorporates two fast 10G Ethernet ports, two PTP clock ports, 1G control port, and 1G management port. All ports are conveniently located on the back of the device to facilitate easier cabling, making it ideal for fly-pack and small broadcast truck use.

Route 2110 IP

Now you can build small 2110 IP systems, such as fly-away kits or small broadcast vans. The 2110 multicast settings are configured using a simple router panel, so there is no need for an IT technician, and there are no complex multicast settings.

Expanded Storage

You get 10G Ethernet ports for connecting HyperDeck ISO recorders and DaVinci Resolve workstations. Then connect a Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra to the extremely fast 100G Ethernet ports.

Management Ethernet

The dedicated management port lets you run the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch utility software for status monitoring and software updates. This port is isolated from control, video, and audio networks, so it won't interfere with operations. Download Blackmagic Ethernet Utility free for macOS or Windows.

Two Redundant PTP Ports

Two redundant PTP clock Ethernet ports provide precise SMPTE-2110 timing synchronization. If one connection fails, the second port seamlessly maintains the timing signal. You can also connect two separate grandmaster clocks for added reliability during equipment failures or cable faults.

100G Ethernet

Eight separate 100G Ethernet connections use QSFP sockets and connect data ports on HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra, or SMPTE-2110 networks with ATEM Constellation IP switchers, HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, and more.
