    Essential Add-On's we recommend

    Description

Full-frame photography has always come with a learning curve. The Nikon Z5IIC flattens it. This is Nikon's first full-frame mirrorless camera with built-in scene modes on the mode dial, which means you can pick up the camera, turn the dial to the scene in front of you and get a result you'll be proud of, no prior photography knowledge required. it's a camera that meets you where you are and grows with you from there.

    Autofocus That Thinks for You

At the heart of the Z5IIC is Nikon's EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, driving an AI-powered autofocus system with 273 focus points and subject detection across ten subject types: people, dogs, cats, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trains, aeroplanes and fish. The camera recognises what you're pointing at and holds focus on it, even in light as low as -10 EV. Whether it's a child running across the park or a bird lifting off the water, the Z5IIC keeps the subject sharp so you can concentrate on the moment.

    Stability You Can Feel

Five-axis in-body Vibration Reduction delivers up to 7.5 stops of stabilisation. In practice, that means handheld shots at slow shutter speeds in dim cafes, street scenes at dusk and steady video without a gimbal. The 24.5MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor pairs with a standard ISO range of 100 to 64,000, so clean, detailed images come easily when the light drops away.

    Speed When it Matters

The Z5IIC shoots at 14 frames per second, with an extended burst of 30 frames per second when you need to nail the decisive frame. An electronic shutter speed of up to 1/8000s freezes fast action and lets you shoot wide open in bright sunlight. it's more than enough performance for sport, wildlife and energetic kids.

    Video Without the Compromise

Video shooters get 4K UHD recording up to 60p (with a crop), Full HD at 120p for smooth slow motion, and a choice of N-RAW, H.265 and H.264 formats. For those who want to grade their footage, N-Log 10-bit 4:2:0 recording preserves latitude in the highlights and shadows. Microphone and headphone connections, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and an HDMI-D port round out a video toolkit that punches well above its class.

    Make it Your Own

Imaging Recipes let you dial in a signature look straight out of camera, and a dedicated film grain effect adds character that would otherwise take time in post. Composing is a pleasure on the 3.2-inch, 1.04 million-dot vari-angle monitor, which flips out for vlogging, low angles and overhead shots. A single SD UHS-II slot keeps things simple, and with a rating of around 350 shots per charge via the monitor, the Z5IIC is ready for a full day out at 620 grams with battery and card.

    The Bottom Line

The Nikon Z5IIC is a full-frame solution made simple. Scene modes take away the guesswork, AI-powered autofocus takes care of the focusing, 7.5-stop VR takes care of the shake, and 4K video is there when the story needs to move. For anyone stepping up to full-frame for the first time, it's hard to imagine an easier way in.

    NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR Lens

For travellers who want to leave the lens changes at home, the 24-200mm is the answer. it's an all-in-one 8.3x zoom running from wide-angle to telephoto, with an optical design that uses aspherical and ED elements alongside ARNEO and Nano Crystal coatings to hold contrast and colour in tricky, backlit light. That means one lens for the sweeping vista in the morning, the street portrait at lunch and the wildlife at the end of the day.

Built-in Vibration Reduction is rated at up to five stops for sharper handheld shooting, and the barrel is dust- and moisture-resistant for use in less-than-ideal conditions. Combined with the Z5IIC's in-body stabilisation, you can push handheld telephoto shooting further than you'd expect. it's the most complete of the four kits and the one I'd pack for a holiday.
