Eizo Premium FlexScan Monitors

Flexscan SX monitors are commonly known as Premium Flexscan's and offer a more detailed feature set than the FlexScan range. These widescreen monitors offer the large screen sizes and color control needed for photography, fine art, design, and graphic design professionals. While outsourcing production is now common practice in the monitor industry, EIZO continues to manufacture its products the same way it has throughout its 40 year history with its own staff at its own factories. This allows EIZO to keep close control over production quality and offer the industry's only 5 year manufacturer's limited warranty.

Wide Color Gamut
The FlexScan SX2462W reproduces 98% of the Adobe RGB color space so it can display most colors in a photograph taken in Adobe RGB mode. Furthermore, it has an sRGB mode to accurately reproduce this narrower but commonly used color space. This ensures that colors meant for sRGB such as those used on web pages and any photos taken with a digital camera's sRGB mode will be reproduced on the screen as intended.

12-Bit Gamma, 16-Bit Internal Processing
Comes quipped with EIZO's latest integrated circuit which has a 12-bit look-up table with a color palette of 68 billion colors from which the most appropriate 16.7 million (8-bits) are displayed. It also features 16-bit internal processing for smooth display of grayscale tones, especially in dark areas of an image which typically are difficult for LCD monitors to display without banding.

Brightness and Color Uniformity with DUE
Uniformity errors usually seen as brighter or darker areas on the screen are characteristic of LCD panels. A Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) function corrects brightness and chroma uniformity errors so they are virtually unnoticeable.

New BrightRegulator
EIZO's BrightRegulator function, which optimizes the screen brightness in accordance with the ambient light, has been improved for even better performance. Whereas BrightRegulator previously used one user-determined reference point for adjusting brightness, it now uses two; one for bright and one for dark ambient luminance. This allows the monitor to more accurately achieve the desired brightness in both brightly and dimly lit rooms.

Developed for Color Universal Design
To avoid creating inconveniences and even dangers for those with color vision deficiency, care must be taken when choosing color schemes for everyday items such as maps, road signs, web sites, and power indicator lights. A new user-oriented design system called Color Universal Design (CUD) has been developed to resolve this issue. In CUD, color schemes are based on what can easily be identified by people with all types of color vision rather than what is aesthetically pleasing. This monitor simulates color vision deficiency and is certified as a CUD compliant product by the Color Universal Design Organization (CUDO) of Tokyo, Japan.

Zoner Photo Studio 9 Bundled
For digital photo enthusiasts, a special EIZO Edition of the popular digital photo editing software Zoner Photo Studio 9 is bundled. This software takes the user through the whole process of managing and editing digital photos, and includes color management features to achieve true colors on screen and on paper. (Compatible with Windows Vista/XP/2000/ME/98 only.)

Detailed Color Control
The OSD menu offers adjustment of brightness, gamma, saturation, hue, gain and color temperature from 4,000 K to 10,000 K in 500 K increments. For fine-tuning of even a single color, the hue and saturation settings for red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow can be adjusted independently.

Fine Contrast
For optimum viewing of different kinds of content, EIZO's Fine Contrast function includes modes for office applications (Text mode), video clips (Movie mode), graphics (Picture mode), web browsing (sRGB mode), and user-defined settings (Custom mode). Switching between modes is done by pressing a button on the front panel or by using the bundled ScreenManager Pro for LCD software, which supports automatic mode switching such as changing to Text mode when an e-mail application is selected.

USB 2.0 Hub
This one upstream, two downstream hub facilitates high speed (480 MB/s) connections with other USB peripherals.

Free Mount Capability
Panel can be removed from its stand and mounted on VESA-compliant arms or stands.

Brightness Stabilization Function
Ensures stable brightness - necessary for the proper display of color with EIZO patented technology. A drift correction sensor quickly stabilizes the brightness level after startup or coming out of power saving mode. Furthermore, the monitor detects and automatically compensates for brightness changes caused by surrounding temperatures and the passage of time.

Customer Assurance
A five-year warranty offers a long service life, and compliance with leading industry standards such as TCO'03 and TUV Ergonomics ensures a better working environment. The EIZO Eco Products 2006 label indicates these products meet strict internal requirements for design, manufacturing, packaging, and usage, including the introduction of lead-free solder and chrome-free steel plates.
