ISO Digital Printer Of Australia and New Zealand

Kayell Australia offers digital printers working in a production environment the ability to receive certification of compliance to the ISO 12647 standard.

While there is currently no ISO digital printing production standard available, Kayell recognizes the need of digital printers to prove their ability to comply to the ISO 12647-2 standard when producing digital prints designed to complement traditional offset printing.

In order to qualify for the certificate of ‘ISO Digital Printer Of Australia and New Zealand’ the participating company must be able to demonstrate the ability to check and maintain quality control throughout the entire production process. To achieve this certificate the company must be able to adhere to the below criteria:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the various ISO paper types and characterization data
  • Demonstrate correct handling of ICC profiles
  • Correct D50 viewing conditions present in Print production area
  • Demonstrate the ability to check that critical viewing areas remain within the industry standard
  • Demonstrate the ability to regularly calibrate monitors, spectrophotometers, proofing and digital printing machines
  • Have access to software capable of measuring the Ugra/Fogra media wedge and proving compliance to the ISO 12647-2 standard
  • Demonstrate that an appropriate process plan is in place, which is devised to regularly check quality control throughout the entire production process
  • Produce a print run of 1000 sheets under normal production conditions. Every 100th sheet will be checked for compliance to the ISO 12647-2 standard.
  • At least 7 of these 10 sheets must compliant for colour accuracy based on the Ugra/Fogra Media Wedge V3 in order for a company to achieve certification

An ISO Digital Printer Of Australia and New Zealand must submit six ISO compliant press sheets to Kayell Australia each six months in order to retain their ISO Printer Of Australia and New Zealand certificate. New Zealand Printers will be checked by Frontline Technologies www.frontline.nz.net
