In a number of tests on the best-known products available worldwide, GMG’s proofing solution ColorProof consistently achieves the top scores. It has established itself as the market-leading solution for professional proofing. The latest version of the product – GMG ColorProof 4.5 continues this tradition, redefining the standard.
Professional tools for the professional user
GMG ColorProof contains the GMG ProfileEditor with Spot Colour Editor, the GMG RIP Server, and output modules for a wide range of output devices. The central element in the software is the unique “4-D Colour Transformation Engine”, which guarantees the best possible quality and color accuracy when producing contract proofs with a variety of output devices. The system can be calibrated against all standard colour charts using a spectrophotometer. Device-independent color profiles are stored for specific printer families. Together with a set of highly developed linearization tools, this makes the system particularly well suited for remote proofing applications. GMG ColorProof supports all currently available spot colour systems (with up to 64 individual colour channels per image), and is compatible with standard ICC profiles, which can be combined with GMG device link profiles.

Calibrated spot colours for reliable remote-proofing
You are able to print spot colours with a much higher reproducibility and stability by now using the MX3 printer calibration for spot colours as well as for standard process colors.
Spot color databases
Support of HKS spot colours and the new Pantone® Goe spot color system for Epson printers and printers of the HP Z series.
Adjustable sharpness for proof prints
Sharpening is now also possible for proofs with either 3D sharpening or unsharp masking options. So the proof will match the later print result even more.
Missing Dot simulation for gravure printing
Simulate non-printing raster dots for even more realistic digital proof results for gravure printing. Parameters to enter are frequency, intensity, starting and end point. You can define which CMYK channel shall be used for missing dot simulation of spot colours.
Support of new printers
Newly supported are the Epson Stylus Pro printers 4880,7880,9880,11880 with the ink technology Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta for a wider colour gamut and for extreme blues and purples.
In the case of Epson Stylus Pro x880 printers, the bi-directional communication is supported: You can now send print jobs directly to the printer via TCP/IP and check the ink and printer status during printing in GMG ColorProof.
Newly certified by Fogra are the printers of the Epson x880-series as well as the HP Z6100.
For GMG media reference profiles are available.
MultiCore processors and Windows Vista
The new GMG ColorProof 4.5 Version supports Windows Vista and can exploit the greater processing power of MultiCore processors.
